Description of impact
This video presents key insights from the 2024 (LIS)²ER Workshop. Held from December 11 to 13, 2024, the event was organized by the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) and the LIS Cross-National Data Center to mark five years of the (LIS)²ER Initiative. The workshop gathered inequality scholars and policy experts from around the world to explore the role of policy evaluation in addressing poverty and economic inequality across both high-income and low/middle-income countries.The event concluded with a policy roundtable titled "Bridging Evidence and Action: How to Evaluate What Works in the Fight Against Poverty?" Experts—including academics, policymakers, and representatives from international organizations—discussed the importance of rigorous policy evaluation, innovative methodologies, robust data, and cross-country knowledge exchange. Overall, the workshop underscored the value of mutual learning and the essential role of evidence-based interventions in shaping effective policies.
