Research summary

Aleksandra holds a PhD in Economics from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). From 2012 to 2016, she worked for an Interuniversity Attraction Pole on Social Enterprise (IAP-SOCENT). Her PhD thesis, titled Social Enterprises’ Financial Management: Theoretical and Empirical Essays, addressed the issues of financial health and financial modelling of social businesses.

In the years 2016–2019, she collaborated with the European Commission and the European Investment Bank in improving access to finance for the social economy, circular economy and blue economy. Till 2023, she held a position of finance manager at Amazon HQ in Luxembourg. Her key responsibilities were related with strategies development and optimizing labor costs.

Since May 2023, Aleksandra has worked at LISER as a Research Associate. She is associated with activities of the transversal programme « Crossing Borders », led by Prof. Frédéric Docquier.

Aleksandra’s interests are related in particular to Social Economy, Sustainability and Public Investments.
