Research summary
Anetta Proskurovska is a PhD Researcher working on the ABTLAS project, which investigates blockchain-based reorganisation of urban land systems and housing markets. In this research, she explores the application of blockchain for land administration and housing transactions in Luxembourg, Sweden and the UK. Each of these jurisdictions has a different deeds and titles system for registering land. The project seeks to identify what causes a specific system’s ‘proneness’ to blockchain implementation, and the direction and degree of a country’s resulting reorganisation of land and real estate markets. The research is conducted under the FNR Industrial Fellowship scheme, in close cooperation with property group Grosvenor, financial services company Deloitte and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust – SnT, at the University of Luxembourg.
Anetta has a diverse background in architecture, urban planning and economic geography. This makes her uniquely well-positioned to grasp the logic of specific technical, economic and social processes in the transitioning of urban land and housing markets. She holds a Masters degree in Geography and Spatial Planning from the University of Luxembourg an Advanced (spécialisé fr.) Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium, and a Masters degree in Architecture of Buildings and Structures from Pridniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Ukraine, and had a prior career in the construction industry and in consultancy.
