Abstract
This communication proposes a model to explain practices of IT services offshoring based on four research hypotheses derived from the literature of the field. These hypotheses were tested in a quantitative survey of thirty-nine French and Luxembourg large companies. The results of the study complement existing work. In addition, they allow us to build a SWOT matrix of the strategic issues of IT services offshoring, to identify the main current flows, to assess the maturity of French and Luxembourg companies according to a four-level typology, and suggest a typical profile of companies involved in IT services offshoring based on their economic characteristics.
