Abstract

This first, of two, workshops on Geoprivacy for Personalized Health
brought together experts from public health, computational sciences, geographic information science, and related fields to explore challenges
at the intersection of health data and location privacy. In our current era of digital health technologies, such as mobile health apps and wearable devices, vast amounts of georeferenced health data are being collected, offering the potential for highly personalized healthcare services. This collection and use of geo-tagged health data also raise significant privacy concerns, as misuse of this data may lead to invasions of individual/group privacy, discrimination, or other unintended consequences.
