    Abstract

This study sought to give a general description of the educational system in the Republic of Congo, both in terms of organisation, internal structure, and efficiency in the labour market. Regarding the educational system, based on different reports and studies, we show that the system faces important challenges: overcrowded classes, important repetition rates, and the existence of a more efficient private system. It also exhibits some interesting features: high attendance rate (in primary and secondary levels) and the absence of gender inequality up to the secondary level for the youngest cohorts.
