Intérêts de recherche

After working in the Ministry of the Economy during Luxembourg’s 2005 Presidency of the Council of the European Union and assuming in 2006 the function of Committee Secretary for the Economy, Transport, Lisbon Strategy and Agriculture Committees in Luxembourg’s Parliament, Patrick joined LISER’s labour department in 2008. He holds a MA in International Relations from the University of Warwick and studied Politics and Hispanic Studies at Queen Mary University London and the University of Valencia, Spain. 

Patrick is Luxembourg’s national expert for the European Centre of Expertise in the Field of Labour Law, Employment and Labour Market Policy (ECE) of the European Commission, for the Mutual Learning Programme (MLP) of the European Commission and for the Workers' Participation Europe Network of the European Trade Union Institute ETUI. In 2013, he was a Management Committee Member for Luxembourg in the EU COST Action Dynamics of Virtual Work (http://dynamicsofvirtualwork.com). Between 2015 and 2017, he coordinated (with Prof. Vassil Kirov) the EU-funded research project EUROSOFIN - Social dialogue in the financial sector in Europe: Contribution to anticipation and restructuring on restructuring dynamics in Europe’s financial sector, with partners in the United Kingdom, Austria, France and Romania. Results were published in a 2018 scientific article in the European Journal of Industrial Relations (The impact of crisis and restructuring on employment relations in banking: The cases of France, Luxembourg and Romania). 

Patrick regularly conducts studies and consultancies for the European Commission, the OECD, EUROFOUND’s EurWORK, EEMC and ERM observatories and databases, ETUI and various ministries and institutions in Luxembourg. He is an expert in the Comité de Conjoncture of Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy and a board member of the Cellule de Recherche de l’Evaluation sur les Conflits (CRRC) of the Ministry of Research. 

His research interests include the Europeanisation of Employment Policies and Relations, European Integration and Governance since 1945, as well as Youth Unemployment and Digitalisation.
