Description

The main objective of the MOEBIUS project is to assess the sustainability of various planning policy scenarios -Urban Sprawl ('laissez-faire') vs. Integratives Verkhers und Landesentwicklungskonzept / IVL ('New Urbanism')- using a modelling platform that is linked to a GIS (Geographical Information System) to simulate residential mobility and daily mobility, within the cross-border metropolitan area of Luxembourg. In this project, a prototype platform was developed with a focus on key interactions between these two types of mobility. The mid-term perspective is to build a decision support tool for planning policy makers and other stakeholders in Luxembourg.
