Sustainable Governance Indicators

The SGI project aims to assess the reform needs and the reform capacity in 41 OECD and EU countries. The approach consists of subjecting 41 OECD and EU countries to a detailed performance comparison based on a tailor-made set of indicators. In this way, we aim to identify examples of success in sustainable governance. By comparing strengths and weaknesses, international learning processes should be initiated and decision-makers should be made aware of necessary reforms. To identify good examples of sustainable governance, the instrument is based on three pillars: the Policy Performance Index, the Quality of Democracy Index and the Governance Index.
