Résumé

This communication addresses the issue of the adoption of green technologies. It seeks to know whether the adoption of Green IT is motivated by economic factors (cost reduction), reputational factors but also if it is the expression of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach. It tends thereby to meet a lack of literature on the relationship between CSR strategies and types of Green IT. To deal with this problem, we analyzed data collected from about 1,000 companies. Our results confirm the fact that the use of Green IT is linked to the desire to reduce operating costs and improve the company's image. They also attest that being a company involved in an approach of CSR affects positively the adoption of Green IT. We also show that it is important not to put all the green technologies at the same level and that it is necessary to differentiate them according to types of CSR strategies.
