Abstract

The Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg formed only one and the same country from 1830 to 1839. If their destinies were then significantly distinguished, it still undergoes today many de facto but also institutional cooperation. binding the two states. The year 1921 undoubtedly constitutes the cornerstone of these relations with the signing of the treaty establishing the Belgian-Luxembourg Economic Union (BLEU). A century later, as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of this treaty, the book provides an overview of the rich cooperation between these two countries in several areas including history, economy, trade, environment, the army and culture.
