Abstract
A new section, titled “Commentaries,” is being introduced in the Journal of Borderlands Studies. This section aims to welcome short essays that express a personal opinion, an informed insight into a particular event, topic, or problem, or reflections about previously published works (e.g. articles, books, or reports).
Over recent decades, the interdisciplinary field of border studies has experienced a dramatic expansion of its research agenda and its scientific contributions. A great diversity of topics, issues, and contexts are nowadays investigated from various standpoints, disciplines, and perspectives. New ideas, concepts, theories, and methods are constantly being developed and promoted.
