Résumé
The Rue de Brabant is one of the nodes in the European migrant-globalisation-from-below-network. Starting from the sale and distribution of carpet, the street has gained a reputation all over Europe, and the entrepreneurs have become big stakeholders in the transnational ethnic commercial apparatus. The area itself has been a condition for its success. As a place in the margins, it was subjected to little mainstream political or economic attention, which made it possible for ethnic entrepreneurs to start-up and grow in sort of a grey zone of informal work and activities.
