(2) Initiate data analysis on demographic change and security in Africa, using secondary data sources (Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) and Living Standards Measurement Stdies (LSMS), Census)) as well as primary data from the Cameoon PICHNET suurvey. Help mentor 4 student collaborators from the INsitute de Formation et de Recherche Démographique (IFORD) in the use f decomposition methods and their application to security analysis. In collaboration woth Drs. Eloundou-Enyegue and Sarah GIroux, write 4 publcishable papers using these data. Specifically, the FHS data will be ised to implement a NTA-like age of profile of the risks of being NEET (not in Education, Employment or Training) and therefore at greater security risk. With the primary data generated by the project and in collaboration with PICHNET, analyze the individual, community and policy determinants of young adults being NEET. These analyses will contribute to generate the core research outputs expected in the DoD project.
