Résumé

This article is closely related to the concept of ?social cohesion,? but I do not intend to rehearse the numerous definitions of this notion. An examination of the situation in the Greater Region and in Luxembourg, in particular, should suffice to clarify the sense I give to social cohesion. It is important to note how an international labour market encompassing a large number of foreign residents and crossborder workers can be found in such a small geographical area. The co-existence of these groups in such a market immediately raises the issue of social cohesion within this small country. Several questions will be posed, and attempts will be made to answer them.
