Profil personnel

Intérêts de recherche

Antoine Decoville is a senior researcher specialized in urban Geography and spatial planning. He is working at LISER since 2007, after the completion of his PhD in 2006 at the University of Strasbourg about the management of suburban forests. He holds an authorization to conduct research from  the University of Luxembourg and is currently supervising a thesis in the same university.
His research interests revolve around the issues of cross-border integration and spatial planning in cross-border metropolitan regions (Metrolux, Metronet, Metroborder). Most of his contributions aim to contribute to the scientific debate by mobilising large-scale quantitative analyses.

Apart from his academic focuses, he is also the project leader of the Luxembourg Observatory for Spatial Development, which provides decision support for the national spatial planning policy (funded by the Ministry for Energy and spatial planning). He has been involved in different highly policy relevant projects for different public bodies, such as the social observatory of the city of Esch-sur-Alzette, the National Emergency Plan of Luxembourg, the production of reports on Land Use changes for the Ministry for Environment, and other studies for the Ministry for Housing. He focuses now his research on the issue of the resilience of urban development forms in European cross-border regions. He is also a lecturer at the University of Lorraine, France.
