Description
Professional Learning Communities for MathemaTIC (PLC fir MathemaTIC) is a collaborative teacher training developed and implemented in Luxembourg. It was the first “online and in-school” form of teacher training designed and offered in Luxembourg for primary school teachers to support their work with an innovative digital learning platform, MathemaTIC. The training was developed in collaboration with SCRIPT’s MathemaTIC team and offered through IFEN’s training catalog.
For this project, we designed and implemented a professional development training as a professional learning community focused on integrating a digital learning platform for mathematics into primary school teaching practice. Up to 200 teachers followed the six-month training in the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school years.
Research topics analyzed in this project include:
* The facilitators and barriers of online-delivered teacher training
* The stages of development of PLCs over time
* Value creation and development of PLCs in primary education
