Intérêts de recherche

Anne-Catherine is an economist, with a solid background in statistics, comparative (EU) data analysis and policy oriented research. Her main research focuses on material deprivation, poverty, social exclusion and well-being – applied to both the overall population and the specific situation of children.

She has published extensively in these fields and was also co-editor of the book on “Monitoring social inclusion in Europe”, with Tony Atkinson and Eric Marlier. She is has been an active member of the EU “Network for the analysis of EU-SILC” (Net-SILC) since it was launched in 2008. She has coordinated the EU funded research that has led to the definition of the new EU indicators on “material and social deprivation” (adopted in March 2017) and on “child deprivation” (adopted in March 2018).

She is co-coordinator of the Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Feasibility Study for a Child Guarantee (2018-2021). She is also strongly involved at the national level in Belgium and Luxembourg on issues relating to poverty and social policies.
